Can I Really Take On Another Hobby?????

Oh I have done it now.....  I would think, dream, wish and then talk my self out of it.... "Oh the expense..." I would say to myself.

But when I was mixing up a double batch of these most delectable cookies for Mother's Day/Dad's 70th Birthday.... I thought, daydreamed and wished for it....  "Oh, it would make this so much easier," I said to myself.

Well, we have been eating healthier and lighter around my house.  We got these great bikes and have been very faithful in riding them.  The swimming pool is about ready for the summer.....

I thought I would like to make a healthier, chock full of grains and seeds kinda bread.  "Well, go and get it.  You've got a coupon... Go for it!"

So I did........
And boy do I ever love it!

And here is the first yummy offering from this lovely piece of machinery.....  Dee's Health Bread

Sorry....  the lighting is bad... it is night now.... but I was very excited..... (I also wish I had used a different color plate - so many browns and yellows in that photo!)    It is a very yummy bread and it gets better as it cools.... I added Wheat Germ and was not able to find cracked wheat - so I used Wheat Bran instead.....  I also added more sunflower seeds and will definitely add more next time!

Yes, I think that the new mixer and I will be spending lots of weekends together......

Oh how I wish I had more time to embrace all of these hobbies!

  1. It's becoming harder and harder for me to find time to visit my bloggy buddies lately - but I'm super glad I stopped in. :) I've been catching up with your posts - this bread looks like fun! Was it easy? Can you link the recipe?

  2. I hear ya Cassandra! I am glad you took some time to come and visit and even leave a comment! If you click on "Dee's Health Bread" in the post it should take you to the recipe. It was easy - but you need some time - because of the rising and so forth. Will definitely make again - using lots and lots more sunflower seeds. But that will have to wait until after summer is over - I hardly ever bake in summer - it is just to hot here in the southwest desert.

Take care and let me know if you make the bread!

And keep making those adorable animals!

  3. You're welcome! I wish I had more time to develop these online relationships. They're fun & its so nice bc everyones always so crafty and sweet and supportive. :)

I'd like to try that bread. Im sure the link works fine - I just didnt notice it the first time. I love a good healthy, hearty, homemade bread - but yeah, its the planning and waiting part that usually gets me. Haha! And yes- its been suuuper hot here (Michigan) too! Ugh!

I'm workin on those critters! I picked up that elephant again the other day. I was workin on it a while back as a custom order. I kinda lost motivation bc I havent heard from the gal in a while- but Id still like to see it done. Maybe I can even muster up a blog post out of my progress! ;)

  5. I would love to see your sweet elephant come to life. In fact, if your customer had decided to not adopt.... maybe I will for my mom. She LOVES elephants. Would be an awesome Christmas present for her. I just went to your Etsy shop and love everything there. (I might possibly open an Etsy shop down the line - just need to find something I am good at making first.)

I am glad that you and I have become blogger friends. And you are so right.... I love to be in good company with crafty, artistic, supportive ladies! It helps to keep the creativity flowing!

Let me know about Mr. Elephant.... I just might have a great home for him! ;) Try to stay nice and cool... we are heading for 112 by Sunday - yuck!
