Projects....

Have been silent - but productive......  

Lots of projects going in my little creative space...  

Our Diva Snowman is a bit further along than in this picture.... but he is quite dapper. 

Had to start another crochet project.... yes, just had to! 

Was so inspired by Regula's  crochet post and stripey blanket.... well, now you see why I had to start one!  Here is a link to the pattern - "As We Go Stripey Blanket"

I took Regula's advice and printed out the pattern (with pictures) and put it in a three ring binder.... With all these left over snippets of yarn there is no specific color combo... just learning some new stitches.

Finally - yes finally..... have the final design.  I love love love this and cannot wait to get it done! 

Still get amazed when that first row is sewn together and you see the actual size and how much is lost by those 1/4 inch seams!  

Well, back to the projects!

Once it is all the way it needs to be....  will square up the little half-square triangles to 3 inches.

Then off to the machine to sew this little beauty together.

Need to get this done and then on to the other quilts....  

The Journey

There are so many different techniques for flying geese. I have seen rulers specifically for flying geese.  I, myself, have learned three different ways to make them.  The Alex Anderson way, Judy Niemeyer's paper piecing and another technique by one of my quilt mentors.  Now there is a fourth for me.

However, I was not very successful.  I do not believe it is the squaring up that is throwing me.  I made eight flying geese and only two had a bit of an issue.  They ended up too short in width. I either cut the pieces wrong originally or my sewing was just enough off......

Love squaring up half square triangles and hour glass blocks. 

While this is not my best block.... I am learning.  

I love batiks.

Worldwide Quilting Day!!!

What a great day!  Not too much sewing but lots of playing on the design wall....  

I started this quilt top in February and totally fell in love with half-square triangles!  

This is the original pattern

But then I wanted to play around
with the blocks

So many design possibilities.

Diva Snowman

He wants me to stop crocheting and finish his hat.....  Such a demanding little snowman.

But I have a deadline and must carry on.  His hat will get done and......

it will be perfect for a Diva Snowman.

Busy Table..... Listening Heart

What is your definition of stillness?  

Does busyness contradict?  

For me a busy table promotes stillness of mind.  

Allows for a listening heart....
